Steven Wright’s “Real Time” Mural

Steven Wright, The Grove’s Senior Associate in Seattle, sent us a picture of a mural he did “mostly” live in June for the graduation class of LIOS (Leadership Institute of Seattle). It’s a wonderful piece of work that we wanted to share.
Steve co-designed the basic concept a few weeks before the event and recorded it on three art boards during a one-hour closing ceremony (plus a few hours post-event cleaning, including all of the gifting students’ names, and chalking). The middle board is representing the transition in underlying support for the LIOS program from Bastyr Univ. to Saybrook Univ.
The group commissioned Steven to do this as an art piece/gift to the college to hang in there new LIOS offices. It ended up 3’ by 6’-6”. They had it custom framed and it’s now on the wall of the office in the prospective new student resources area.
It’s an example of how graphic facilitation can move into the domain of real artistic expression.
